Before you begin
For the most meaningful result, take the test under quiet and consistent conditions:
- Start only when you are well rested.
- Set aside 30 minutes without interruptions.
- Do not use any aids or ask anyone for help.
- Work carefully. Random guessing can distort your result.
The test is submitted automatically when the 30 minutes are up, even if you have not answered every question.
How should you interpret your result?
Your result is shown on the standard IQ scale, which has a mean of 100 and a standard deviation of 15. The comparison sample is based on more than 100,000 completed tests.
Your score is a data-based estimate of your cognitive performance under online testing conditions. Tiredness, distractions and even the device you use can affect the result. An online IQ test can therefore provide a useful indication, but it is not a substitute for a standardized psychological assessment.

Frequently asked questions about the free IQ test
Is the IQ test really free?
Yes. Taking the test, receiving your result, reviewing your answers and downloading the certificate are all free. There is no paywall.
Do I need to sign up for the IQ test?
No. You do not need to provide your name, postal address or email address.
How long does the IQ test take?
The test takes no more than 30 minutes. It is submitted automatically when the time limit is reached.
How reliable is the result?
The result provides a data-based estimate under online testing conditions. Because the testing environment is not professionally controlled, the score should be treated as an indication rather than a psychological diagnosis.
Can I take the IQ test again?
Yes, but taking it again straight away is not particularly useful. You may remember some of the questions and how to solve them, which can raise your second score even though your cognitive ability has not changed.
